“A Se Akshar Campaign”

Aim of the Initiative:-

“A-se-Akshar-Abhiyan” is initiated to reach the community who are above 18 years of age and have missed the opportunity of formal learning. The campaign will develop an environment of learning in the community so that they could have better access in knowing the rights and entitlements and social awareness adding value in their day-to-day living.

Why the need of the initiative:-
 Jhabua is one the district with poor literacy index, with its geographical location comprising of low rainfall, poor soil context leading to high migration in search of livelihood opportunities thus the area lacks in literacy ranking, high gender disparity, falling prey to fraud and financial cheating.

Strategy and Planning:-

Phase I: District level committee formation onboarding CSO’s (TRIF-Transforming Rural India Foundation, Educate-Girls, Samavesh, Prabhudasis sisters and UNICEF), Education department and Tribal Department chaired by the District Collector Shri Somesh Mishra. Simultaneously Pilot area selection, Survey format, learning Material, module, Mobilization activities were developed and finalized, From 8th September classes started in the identified Learning centres with the teachers supported by SHG Change Vectors and Youth Volunteers.
Phase II: Onboarding of Private Institute and social changers in the district was done and the campaign was started in the whole district.
